predefinito cruise control 1200 rt

Di seguito la risposta per la versione rt del cruise control che non e' stata sviluppata perche' in australia esce di serie con la moto ma per il gs si puo' montare senza problemi .

Hi Stefano,
Here is the info we provide to people wanting cruise kits for bikes we don’t have model-specific kits for. That should help you assess the R1200RT installation. As long as the cable splitter is the same as the GS it should not be too hard to do.
Regrettably we have not developed a model-specific kit for your bike, but I have no doubt our universal cruise would work exceptionally well on the bike. However we will not accept orders unless answers to every question on page 2 of the attached ordering instructions are provided. The extended liaison required if the installer/purchaser is not mechanically capable eats all profit ability from the sale. Answers to these questions ensure someone knows what they are doing before they start. We also recommend you buy Utilux #61 crimpers if you don’t already have them.
The universal cruise is designed to fill the gap where we are unable to either source a bike for development of a model-specific kit, or where there is so little demand development cannot be economically justified.
The universal cruise is designed for the capable home mechanic - of which there are many, with the time and patience to use our instructions as guidance, but who can make responsible decisions about safely installing the system, make or adapt brackets to mount the individual cruise components and can follow our clear instructions about how to calibrate and configure the computer to make the kit work well on the particular bike.
Consequently, it is not for everyone. It would probably be too expensive to get a professional to fit it, but that is the customer's choice based on their need and ability to pay.
From a safety standpoint, the computer/electrics and carburettor/throttle body interface provided in the cruise control kit is outstanding - as long as the guidance material is followed and the system is competently installed. Only you, the installer can judge that.
To help you make good decisions, the universal cruise instructions are being written so that they provide great detail on the various options different bikes present in the way in which the cruise might be configured. We already have model-specific cruise kits for cruisers, sport touring bikes, sport bikes and scooters. We distil information and photos from these many kinds of bikes' cruise instruction sets to assist the installer in deciding the best way to install the kit on their particular bike.
The cruise for your bike is composed of a number of separate modules listed below. Note that our new computer can be recalibrated to suit any bike and will last for years - previous models of MCS cruise controls are still in service 8 years since they were first installed!. This cruise can be taken from bike to bike with the purchase of various new components if required.

Note 1: - Custom and Universal looms. Where we have the information and suitable connectors are available, we cut and finish terminate all branches of the universal wiring loom to suit the model of bike (to make a 'Custom' or model specific wiring loom). This is supplied on MOST (not available on the full range) of our cruise controls. The models where this service is NOT available are identified as having a Universal loom. On models using the Universal loom, for most installations there will be approximately 15 wiring connections that will need to be cut to length and re-terminated. Ten of these connections are internal to the cruise control (control switch and actuator connections), the other connections are to the motorcycle (brake power and sensing, speed sensing, clutch sensing, tach sensing and ground). All components (terminals wire, heat shrink etc.) to complete these connections are provided in the cruise control kit. We recommend purchasing the Utilux #61 crimper to facilitate making these connections. The custom loom can be a 'delete option' with a discount if the customer does NOT want a custom loom.
Note 2: - The Utilux No. 147A crimper is best suited to crimping small to medium sized terminals. It is ideal for crimping the cruise control computer plug terminals, but is NOT suitable for crimping the other terminals usually supplied with a cruise control kit. We would only recommend purchasing this crimper if you expect to perform multiple installations. Freight cost shown is ONLY if the crimper is purchased with a cruise control kit. Contact us for freight cost if purchased separately.
Note 3: - The Utilux No. 61 crimper is suitable for crimping all of the terminals supplied with the universal cruise control kits. It does not make an ideal crimp on the cruise control computer plug terminals, but it is a good crimp and for a one-off installation, the extra expense of buying the No 147A crimpers as well as the No. 61 crimpers is not justified. Freight cost shown is ONLY if the crimper is purchased with a cruise control kit. Contact us for freight cost if purchased separately.
Note 4: - All 2004 VTX1800's except the Classic have a coolant bottle mounted in the 'V' of the cylinders on the left side. This conflicts with the cruise control installation. VTX1800's have two different types of speedometer sender connecting plugs. It is essential that the correct model cruise control is ordered. Please contact us for information for speed sensor connector identification.
Note 5: - FJR1300 from 2003 have a different type of rear brake light switch connector to the earlier model. The later model also has a luggage pocket in the left side fairing pocket, the earlier model does not. At this time we believe that the change in brake connector occurred at the same time as the introduction of the fairing pocket. It is essential that the correct model cruise control is ordered. Please contact us for information for brake switch connector identification.
Note 6: - The basic cruise components kit will give you all the parts that every cruise control model uses. It will NOT give the parts needed to fit the cruise control to any model motorcycle. You MUST add one or more of the A to J parts kits to arrive at a complete kit for your motorcycle. NOTE that this is NOT a universal cruise control kit that will fit any bike. It is a starter kit with basic components to which the custom designed or other universal components MUST be added. Refer to the separate model list to see what other parts kits are required.
Note 7: - The 'A' kit provides some of the universal or model specific hardware (actuator brackets, switch brackets and other hardware) that are needed that are NOT provided in any of the other parts kits
Note 8: - The 'B' kit provides any parts required to connect the actuator to the bikes throttle system on kits that do NOT use a CIU.
Note 9: - The 'C' speed sensor kit contains a speed sensor, a universal sensor mounting bracket or one designed for your motorcycle and any other parts needed. Note that in most cases it is possible to use the motorcycles speedometer sender as a speed signal source if your motorcycle has an electric speedometer. In the past we have fitted our own design speed sensors to some of these motorcycles for various reasons.
Note 10: - The 'D' 'Dual spool' CIU parts kit contains a Cable Interface Unit assembly for motorcycles with twin 'push/pull' throttle cables including any mounting brackets and other hardware needed.
Note 11: - The 'E' 'Single spool' CIU parts kit contains a Cable Interface Unit assembly for motorcycles with single 'pull only' throttle cables including any mounting brackets and other hardware needed.
Note 12: - The 'F' actuator cover kit contains aluminium covers for the actuator finished in either satin black or pearl silver powder coat. These covers are to provide suitable weather protection for the actuator when it is exposed and to improve the appearance of the actuator when it is mounted in a visible location on the motorcycle.
Note 13: - The 'G' CIU cover kit contains a stainless steel decorative cover and mounting bolt to improve the appearance of the CIU when it is mounted in a visible location on the motorcycle.
Note 14: - The 'H' electrical connections kit provides all of the electrical terminals and housings as used on the motorcycle's wiring loom needed to be able to fit the cruise control without cutting ANY wires on the motorcycle (where such terminals are available). You will need a suitable 'roll crimp' crimper to be able to fit these terminals to the wires on the cruise control wiring harness, or be able to solder the terminals to the wires. If you are purchasing a Universal Cruise Control kit, terminals and housings will be provided in those cases where we know what is used.
Note 15: - The 'I' vacuum reservoir kit consists of a vacuum reservoir, mounting bolts and some other parts for use on smaller capacity motorcycles (Sports or Sports Tourers under 450cc and cruisers under 800cc) which run short of vacuum at highway speeds. It is also sometimes used on fuel injected models where sensor operation might be affected by normal vacuum actuator connection.
Note 16: - The 'J' kit comprises cable adjusters, cable nipples, clips and a new inner cable to enable the original BMW throttle cable to be split into two parts and place the Cable Interface Unit in the throttle cable system.
Note 17: - The 'K' kit comprises all the additional electrical components needed to allow the cruise control to work on bikes fitted with OE or aftermarket LED tail/brake lamps. NOTE: - This kit is for use ONLY on cruise control kits with part numbers from MCS4000 up. It will NOT fit earlier models with part numbers below MCS4000.
NOTE THAT WE Recommend purchase of our crimpers to make the job easier – cost $30 AUD
