RIP Olivier Lavorel

Purtroppo un'altra vittima al TT 2022, il giovane esordiente francese Olivier Lavorel ha perso la vira in seguito ad un grave incidente occorso durante il primo giro di Gara1 dei Sidecar. La corsa è stata interrotta.

It is with deep sadness that the Isle of Man TT Races can confirm the passing of Olivier Lavorel following an incident on the opening lap of the first Sidecar Race of the 2022 Isle of Man TT Races.
We wish to extend our deepest sympathies to Olivier’s family, loved ones, and friends, and our thoughts are with his team mate, César Chanel, who is in a critical condition following the accident.
Olivier was a new member of the TT Races paddock, but his and César’s performances throughout qualifying had impressed their peers and fellow competitors immensely. Olivier was also following in the footsteps of his older brother, Sebastien, who has previously competed as a passenger at the TT Races.
The road racing community is like no other in motorsport; particularly within the world of sidecars. The loss of Olivier will be felt throughout the paddock,

Oggi giornata di gare, in programma la Supersport TT Race , la Sidecar TT Race 1 e la Superstock TT Race.

Michael Dunlop vince la Supersport TT Race

Impresa di 'The Beast', che riscatta le tribolazioni nelle 'Big Bikes' imponendosi in Supersport Race in sella alla Yamaha R6 MD Racing, facendo segnare il nuovo primato assoluto sul giro con uno stratosferico 129.47 mph! Per il nipote dell'indimenticabile Joey, si tratta del ventesimo successo all'Isola.
La gara si è ben presto ridotta ad una battaglia furibonda tra Michael e Dean Harrison, quest'ultimo in sella alla Kawasaki, con Dunlop che ha avuto la meglio per soli 5 secondi grazie al record assoluto sul giro fatto segnare all'ultimo passaggio. Terzo, a chiudere il podio, Peter Hickman con la Triumph 765.

Nuovo trionfo dei fratelli Birchall nella Sidecar TT Race 1

I fratelli imbattibili centrano l'ennesimo successo in Gara 1 dei Sidecar, recuperata oggi dopo l'interruzione per l'incidente al primo giro lo scorso sabato. Per i Birchall si tratta dell'ottavo successo consecutivo al TT. Al secondo posto i fratelli Crowe, terzo l'equipaggio Founds/Walmsley.

Peter Hickman vince la Superstock TT Race

Peter Hickman si conferma incontenibile tra le 'Big Bikes' centrando il successo nella Superstock TT Race', sempre in sella alla BMW M1000RR del Gas Monkey Garage. 'Hicky' è al secondo successo in questo TT 2022, dopo aver vinto la Superbike TT Race lo scorso sabato. A completare il podio, le Honda Padgett's di Conor Cummins e Davey Todd.

RIP Davy Morgan

Purtroppo giunta la notizia della scomparsa di Davy Morgan, storico ed esperto pilota di Road Races, a seguito di un incidente durante la Supersport TT Race 1. Aveva 52 anni ed oltre 80 TT disputati al suo attivo.
